STENA LINE OPENS NEW ROUTE TO FINLAND

In recent months, Stena Line has heavily focused on expanding in the Baltic Sea. With its newest route, the ferry operator literally breaks new ground, and closes a gap at the same time. Stena Line’s first ever ferry route to mainland Finland makes up for the now densest route network in Northern Europe, reaching from the Irish Sea to the utmost east of the continent. The opening is also a testament of Stena Line’s approach to act dynamically and consequently, when the customers’ demand is there.

EXPANSION CONTINUES

Over the past year, Stena Line has expanded in the Baltic Sea, increasing both freight and passenger capacity, to cater for increasing demand of sea transportation in the region. This year Stena Line has already introduced new large and modern ferries on both of their two Latvian routes Nynäshamn-Ventspils and Travemünde-Liepaja. The ferry company has announced that the expansion on the Baltic Sea will continue during 2022, increasing both freight- and passenger capacity. The company has announced that they will deploy their two new 240-meter-long fuel-efficient E-Flexer ferries, on the Nynäshamn-Ventspils next year. Stena Line has also announced plans to increase the capacity on the Karlskrona-Gdynia route with the deployment of the two large and modern ferries Stena Scandica and Stena Baltica.

STENA ESTRID SETS SAIL

What a journey it has been! Six years after initiating the next-generation ferries project for Stena Line, Stena Estrid is now finally ready. She is one of the five new E-Flexer ships that Stena Line has ordered in total. On November 15 Stena Line took
delivery of the Stena Estrid at the AVIC shipyard in Weihai. In the beginning of next year, she will be the first of the three new ships built for the Irish Sea to start operating on the Dublin-Holyhead route.

MERCY SHIPS

During the month of November, customers on all 38 vessels were encouraged to Round Up for Charity. Be aware of fraud this summer!

After a long and cold spring, the warm weather is finally here. As the temperature rises and the days grow longer, attempted fraud is also on the rise. The crooks and fraudsters try to exploit the fact that we, like many other companies, employ summer substitutes who have less experience that our regular staff. IT-related fraud is increasing, both in the form of phishing mail, where the sender wants us to click on links so as to be able to attack us, and as false invoices via e-mail or normal mail.

Stena Line invests big in region Denmark

Stena Line makes a big investment to increase both freight and passenger transport to Denmark. The goal is to increase the number of passengers with 300,000 people and to double the freight volume of the Grenaa route. As part of the investment Stena Line brings the Caribbean to Kattegat with The Reef Bar on the Stena Danica. At the same time the vessel is turned into a digital test arena.
