STACY TAO APPRECIATES STENA'S CORPORATE CULTURE

Stacy Tao is the office administrator manager at Stena RoRo’s Shanghai office and says that the longer she works at Stena, the more she appreciates the values and culture. She especially stresses the importance of work with sustainability. Stacy is very committed to her job and has clear ambitions for the future – she is studying Swedish and would be happy to move to Gothenburg.

ANDREW TRAINS EMPLOYEES HOW TO ANSWER MEDIA CALLS CORRECTLY

After a two weeks’ paternity leave, Media and Communications Officer Andrew Gibson has a lot of work to catch-up on when he’s back at the office. One of his tasks is to train employees of Northern Marine Group to correctly answer unsolicited media telephone calls, should an incident occur on one of the company’s managed vessels.

When this interview is conducted, Tiina Lagerström is still manager of the Eskilstuna branch of Stena Recycling Sweden. But she’s in the starting blocks for a much greater role. On June 1st, she’ll namely become Opera-tions Manager at the Stena Recycling Finland’s head office in Vantaa.

A former deck officer himself, Thomas Campbell is responsible for the Northern Marine Cadet Programme, as well as the Northern Marine Fleet Training Programme. With a wide remit Thomas travels often, working with a range of professionals, from excited young seafarers about to embark on their careers, to influential industry heads, responsible for ensuring training standards.

We meet Lena Alvling, Marketing and Event Manager at Stena Bulk, in Bohuslän’s archipelago where she finds the necessary relaxation all year round. Lena is employed at Stena Bulk with the formal title of General Manager Marketing & Corporate Events WW. The role often entails travelling worldwide as responsible for a variety of international events. The working pace is high, the details are many.

NEVER A BORING DAY AT WORK

In his 30 years at Stena Bulk, Jan Sonesson has never had a boring day at work. When he retires this autumn, he will be able to look back on a long and exciting career, the last eight years as Vice President Fleet Operations of the company.

FROM TURBINE SALESMAN TO HEAD OF OPERATIONS

Anders Rylin has worked at Stena Renewable since the company was started up. He sat on the other side of the table and sold the first five turbines that Stena invested in. Anders helped build up the company’s project portfolio early on but in the last few years he has worked with operational and procurement questions. He has now come the full circle and since October, he is once again responsible for the project department.
