We just held our annual general meeting and with good reason celebrated our annual results for 2023. If a company's management relaxes, on the other hand, the competitiveness and vitality gradually disappear. A lot of things happen every year and we have good reason to be grateful.

Despite that 2023 has been a difficult year for the world economy, global production and consumption have increased slightly. Stena Line, Stena Metall as well as Stena Adactum´s companies are struggling with lower demand. Stena AB is on the other hand delivering almost the same profit for 2023 as in 2022. The difference is as small as the profit from the sale of one ship. Stena Metall AB’s profit has reduced remarkably but is still the second best since the very beginning.

This year, Sphere Forum was held in Belfast, where Stena Line is an important part of the city's vitality. Our operations contribute to people being able to meet and goods being transported between Northern Ireland and the mainland. Stena Line has three profitable ferry routes to and from Belfast, and the city is our most significant hub.

Having spent years fighting bad results from COVID-related consequences we are now approaching profits everywhere again. I start to wonder about what makes us so successful. Of course, it is about innovation and performance and we are getting accolades from our clients to that effect. This year Sphere Forum was a digital event. And even if we missed the chance to meet I still think it was valuable to gather all participants digitally around important topics for Stena going forward. A lot has been difficult during the last years. Many of us have lost a friend or a relative.
