BASED ON IDEAS FROM EMPLOYEES
STENA FASTIGHETER DEVELOPS OWN AI ASSISTANT
Stena Fastigheter has now launched its own AI assistant. The assistant was developed in collaboration with Sana Labs. The ideas for the new digital colleague were worked out at a hackathon, where staff from both Stena Fastigheter and other Stena companies participated.
“It feels like the start of something completely new, and I’m glad that we can continue working with the ideas we’re getting from our colleagues,” says Stephan Begic, IT manager at Stena Fastigheter. “We’ve also found a good supplier that can easily adapt the AI platform to the current, rapid technological development.” Over time, the AI assistant will have more and more uses.
HARNESSING THE INNOVATIVE POWER OF OUR STAFF
Stena Fastigheter has a high level of commitment among its employees, according to the company’s employee surveys. The opportunity to influence and contribute to innovation is one of several contributing factors. During a hackathon in 2023, employees from both Stena Fastigheter and other Stena companies gathered to work out ideas about AI. This resulted in several different avenues for development that Stena Fastigheter subsequently pursued.
“Our journey began with an exciting and challenging experience at the hackathon where we had to go outside the box, both in our ways of thinking and working,” says Sandra Åkerlund, business controller at Stena Fastigheter’s new production company Stena Bygg. “Having the opportunity to be part of a project where we utilize new technology to enhance our operations is not only fun, but also very educational. I’ve gained a deeper understanding of AI and machine learning, and really appreciate the dynamics of working in a cross-functional group where different perspectives and skills are combined. Working at a company that is at the forefront with a focus on innovation is incredibly inspiring.”
